Something that isn't done much today,

is making our clothes the old fashioned way:

measuring tape, needles, thread and pins,

pattern, material, scissors and tins

( of accessories )

Granny would cut, then pin to fit;

sew on old Singer, hand hem, to wit

three dresses done and ready to wear:

'Made by Elizabeth' with great care!

We walked into church on Mothers Day;

all women's eyes looking our way.

Dad made sure we had flowers to wear.

I sat in the pew with skirt a flair.

After the service, we went out to lunch;

a Chinese fare with plenty to munch.

So radiant, did my Mother look!

Today she wasn't to clean or cook!

We showered her with love galore;

and our dear Granny did we adore.

On Mothers Day it was the best,

because we three were so well dressed!
